Lol

Likely a short somewhere in the wiring. If you've changed out the radio, might want to see if something wasn't wired correctly.

Otherwise you'll need to have someone trace the system to see what the short is.

Also a possibility… If you have something that's plugged into the 12v port… You might want to try unplugging it to see if the battery stays charged.

I depends on the humidity and climate where you live.

Parasitic leak. Maybe you've got a bad door switch, and the dome light is stuck "on". Could be the brake lights, or backup lights, too.

Possibilities:
1 Something is being left switched on, whether you know it or not.
2 There may be a short circuit somewhere but I'd expect it to blow a fuse rather than drain the battery.
3 Someone has done some work on the vehicle and connected something up wrongly.
That's me out of ideas.

It's a Found On Road Dead.

The charging system fuse blew out. Change it and use a 15 amp instead of the stock 5amp one unless you want to go digging up in the dash for that fuse every month.

Check all of the fusible links in the engine compartment fuse box. They are the larger fuses. There's one that protects the alternator and electrical system from idiots that hook up jumper cables backwards. When it's blown the alternator can't charge the battery. If everything is working and you have a Sirius radio set up, I've seen them drain a battery over night on a couple of customers vehicles.

  • Why is my truck battery keeps dying? I checked everything in my truck 92 ford f150, It didn't have this problem until 3 days ago, also three days ago i let my one of roommates have some change out of my truck, and i didn't know if the dome light came on overnight, but i bought a new battery for it (everything is new in the truck) monday night, now tuesday night it won't start, it will not crank over, never had this problem with it, it only has 173k on it too.
  • New alternator and battery but battery still won't charge in my ford explorer 93? My battery wouldnt charge So i just replaced my alternator a few days ago knowing it would fix the problem. It appears that the alternator was not the problem. I've got a brand new alternor and when i check the battery(running car), it just stays on 12.5V and doesn't go up. I tried using it yesterday and it just drained out on me. I tried 3 good batteries already and checked if they charge in my car but they don't. Oh, the alternator came with a volt regulator.
  • My 2004 Ford explorer car battery keeps over heating? First they battery exploded but I did not know, out of no where the entire dasboard stopped working but cuts off and on depending on if i'm still or slowing down. I got a new battery and its starting to still over heat and now the car battery dies for no reason. Ca anyone explain even part of this?
  • What is the best and simplest way to put in subs and an amp without dimming lights and my battery dying, etc? I know that a capacitor stores unused energy if I remember right, but I'm not sure on that. I know that I could add a second battery, but I'm not sure how great that would work mounting it and on my alternator. Please help! Any info would be great! By the way, I have two Audiobahn 10" subs in a sealed, ported box with blue neons around the speakers. And the amp is a two channel 800 watt Lanzar Vector. Lastly, I drive a 1989 Ford Bronco.
