2000 Ford Expedition Steering Problem

I have a 2000 Ford Expedition and have recently run into a steering problem. When I go to make a hard turn whether it be making a complete U-Turn or 90 degree turn, the truck does not want to move? The power steering fluid is normal and there are not any leaks. Could this be a belt issue (which also all the belts seem to check out) or the steering pump itself?

Get the vehicle towed to a garage.

Sounds like the 4 wheel drive is activated or has a bad outer axle joint.

It is a garage repair. Most likely the Constant Velocity Joints on the front end. So you should replace both sides… As both sides will be worn the same.

  • Car acceleration problem and idle problem. The car is a 2003 Ford Taurus? . When the car is running and in parked its making a loud consisted rev noise. However the rpm needle thingy is not moving. when i'm in drive the car acclerates on its own with the speed ever increasing. i did some googling and learned that it can be the TPS sensor or the idle air intake valve, among a million other possiblities.
  • 1995 Ford Taurus with a steering issue. When I turn the steering wheel to a certain spot left or right it will start moving back and forth? According to previous owner the rack and pinion was previously replaced. Steering wheel Is off a little to the right. Any ideas?
  • Problem with Steering Wheel in Ford Aspire? This is a problem that just started happening last week, So pretty much when I go to turn the wheel, If I turn it to fast the wheel makes a weird snap sound then is unresponsive with the tires (it still turns the wheel but the tires don't respond) the only way to fix it so far, has been restarting the car, then it works like normal. I'm 16 btw, so I know nothing about cars and none of my family knows about cars, what do I do?
  • Power Steering Problem? Ford CV? I have a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria. When I turn the wheel to the left, the first inch or so of turning is stiff, then it is fine. Its like I have to break through rough steering to get to the good stuff. Ha. Also, same thing for turning right. A few inches of rough turning and then it is easy to turn again. I have enough Power Steering fluid in the… Thing. It is half way between "Min" and "Max". Also, it is red, not too dirty looking. What could be the issue here?
