1998 ford expedition clicking noise from center console?
I have a 1998 ford expedition. There's a clicking noise coming from the console between the drivers seat and passengers seat. I thought it was the cd player i had installed in it. But i unplug that and it still does it. I notice last winter when the rear climate control was turned on it started doing this. And now when i set the rear blower to low it doesn't sound as loud. Is there a fuse or something that can be taken out and if so which one is it? Or any ideas what has to be done?
There might be a relay under the console that's making the noise or the actuator for the rear climate control system may be the source of the noise.A relay makes a clicking sound when it is activated. You can always remove the console to see exactly what the noises source is. If it makes the noise only when the rear fan is turned on, it could possibly be the blower motor resistor, if the rear fan has a separate resistor.I'm most likely thinking it may be the relay making this noise. Does it click one time or does it continue clicking on a repetitive note? If its a relay, it should only click once. If it is an actuator, they tend to click repetitively when they begin to malfunction. Check the fuse box under the dash and the relay panel under the hood for any fuses related to the rear climate control system and maybe even the front system too.Remove a fuse 1 at a time until you find the fuse that stops the clicking noise.
- 2001 Ford Ranger clicks once then won't turn over, and when key is turned off, it begins making a clicking relay noise under the dash? - 1 I've had this happen before, and the last couple times I just undid the battery and put it back in and it started right up. The battery has a charge, the alternator is new, and I tried jumping the battery just in case. So I know it's not that. I'm thinking it could be something in the ignition switch because sometimes I have to lift up on the shifter knob for it to register that it's in park and turn over. Any ideas?
- 03 ford ranger 3.0L v6 making clicking noise? A few days ago my ranger started making a clicking noise from the engine. It increases with the rpms and seems to go away when torque is applied like going up a hill. I had probably waited too long to change my oil and I just changed it and it seemed to maybe help a little. Does anyone know what the sound might be?
- Ford Ka making a constant clicking noise while driving? Car was only serviced a few months ago. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Seemed to be coming from under the car but I can't be sure.
- Noise works, but when I push it, it also makes a clicking/rattling noise? I have a 2012 Ford Focus, and while the horn works, and sounds (as it normally does), when I press it, it also makes a weird clicking/rattling noise (also kinda like a jingle sound - hard to describe). It sounds as if it's coming from behind the center console/under the center console, but it's hard to tell. Any ideas what it could be? With any answers - any advice on how to fix it? Question should say HORN Works
