Which car is better? 2001 ford escort or '01 dodge stratus?

Both need to be fixed up, but are cheap to buy and have minor issues. Just asking which would you choose?

Although a Chrysler guy myself. I would say the ford has a better track record then the dodge. The escourts are good little throw away cars as ids the dodge. But dodge does have some transmission issues. Ford is just under powered.

The Escort is worth double the Stratus.

Depending of what type the stratus is. I have a 2003 mustang and my best friend has a 2004 stratus 2 door. I drove the stratus once and loved it, so I bought one. I have the 2003 sxt. Insurance is great, gas miles is great, I love the feel of it. If you want a car that you can drive, have fun and surprise people with, I would go with the stratus. It doesn't look like a far car. But they. Not saying you have to race. But if your looking for that car that will turn heads, be fast, have good had mileage and insurance (depends on your insurance) than go with the stratus. I have a friend I work with who drive a escort and it keeps breaking down, the Axel broke (rear) and the gas line rotted and can't find a good replacement that will stay on properly. But it could just be his.

Hi well it would need to be the ford here in the united kingdom as the engine fitted in the dodge is twice the size. So the insurance would be far too high for most young drivers.
