I think my thursh bearing has gone?
Hi all i drive a 1995 ford escort mk6 with 55k miles on the clock to date.
Last year i took my car to get the clutch done at Mr clutch at around 45k miles, Everything has been fine until the last thew days, i did a 2k round trip for work and i started to noticed a whining noise from the gear box but when i put my foot on the clutch the noise went. I turned the car off when i get home and went to it the following morning and the noise was gone, so 2 days went by and the noise comes and goes.
So my question is what do you all think the problem is i personally think the thrush bearing has gone.
Also i can't take it back to Mr clutch as the guy who did the last inspection put a x through all of the miles for the service so i thought i didn't have to go back any more but it turns out i did so they voided my warranty.
Added (1). My next question at college we was always taught to replace the clutch/throw out bearing and pressure plate at the same time. I have a spare throw out bearing could i get away with just replacing that.
