Switchback LED's not working correctly?

I bought some switchback LED's the other other and I installed them into my 1998 Ford Escort zx2. With the running lights on, they light up orange (suppose to be white). When I hit the blinker they still blink only orange. White does not come on, ever. I have flipped the bulb and same thing happens. I do not have resistors. My friend has the exact same car, 1998 Ford Escort zx2. And they work perfectly fine in his car. His car does not have resistors. I'm wondering what could cause the bulbs to work perfectly fine in my friends car but not work fine in my car. Thank you. *Tags: Cars, trucks, motorcycle, light, LED, headlights, chevy, ford, gmc, Ford, Escort.*

1997 ford escort won't start after almost overheating?

When I was driving my car on the freeway going 70mph I noticed that the low coolant light came on and the coolant temp gauge went 2/3 of the way toward red, then it started losing power from the engine, stepping on gas didn't do anything. 30 seconds later it started making a rotational noise like something rolling around and the car died. When I checked the radiator it was empty but no leaks visible. I added water and tried starting but it only turned over and blew a puff of white smoke from the tail pipe. I checked the oil also and it looks normal.
is this a blown head gasket or worse?

Can you jump a low pressure switch when there's no r134a in the system?

I just got a 1998 Ford Escort zx2 and I'm having some A/C troubles with it. The compressor will not come on. I tried jumping the low pressure switch to see if the compressor would kick on so I could add some r134a but nothing happened. I was wondering if the system has no r134a in it, will that stop me from being able to jump the low pressure switch? Also I should add this, I know these cars are notorious for the CCRM failing. When I was messing with the AC, I tapped on the CCRM and the compressor kicked on and off and on and off for about 5 minutes. I went inside to get r134a and went back outside to add it after thinking I fixed the AC, and the compressor was no longer working. So that tells me that the system is definitely low on r134a. But also, since I tapped on the CCRM I'm thinking it might be the cause to all of this. I'm in no hurry to spend $80+ on a new CCRM and I'm not comfortable taking it apart and soldering a new relay in. So would the low pressure switch not be "jumpable" if there's no freon in the system?

Left side (front and back) blinker/brake light issue 2001 ford escort any ideas?

So, my blinkers do not work on my left side (inside looking out), and neither does my brake light. Two things to note: 1. The arrow indicator on my dash stays solid, not blinking 2. When my hazards are on, both blinkers work, but I forgot to check if my rear blinkers work during my hazards flashing.
I've tried figuring this out with online research, my guess (I'm no expert on this at all obviously), is my rear brake light could vw a bulb and the the rest is a fuse/relay problem.
Side question - anyone know roughly how much this would cost to fix by a mechanic?
