How much will it cost me to get the belt around my car engine fixed?

A couple hundred bucks. We do not know the hourly work rate of mechanic shops in your area. So, get on Yelp and search up a few shops in your area and call them with this question come Monday morning.
I assume you are talking about the serpentine belt.
I change the serpentine belt in my cars every 5 years, but I do not remember what the part itself costs. Let's say $30.00 on the high side. It takes about 15 minutes to do the job, but the shop may bill you for a full hour of shop time. That will vary depending upon the shop & where you live.
Call a few shops & ask what their shop rate is, & also what they will charge to change the part.
It really is a simple task, but shops live to overcharge on simple jobs.
It should be done as part of the service when it is due.
