Can a Ford Escort ZX2 haul anything?
It has an overdrive option, and would just like to know if it has the capability to haul anything. I'm NOT trying to haul anything big, just a something small a few miles down the road and do not have access to a truck and it is just a little bit too big to fit inside the car. I don't know anything about cars and I do know it has an overdrive option and have never used it, and would just like to know if that is a reason to use it.
You may be able to pull a small trailer. Never use overdrive when hauling. Overdrive is for highway use to save fuel. Its a higher ratio than your final drive ratio.
Overdrive OD is to lower the engine speed at speeds over 55 mph. Helps save gas and engine wear. Yes your Escort should be fine long as it not something over 700 lbs. Check your owners manual or google your Escorts towing weight. Also remember to keep your speed down whey you are loaded down or towing something.

It can, but an honest answer. You will be wasting your money. A zx-2. Can tow 200 to 500 pounds. This includes the weight of the trailer. A very small trailer weighs. About 200. Average trailer weights are 300 to 500 pounds.

- After market install 01 ford escort zx2? I have an 01 ford escort zx2 that has an after market stereo system. This vehicle is fairly new to me but for some reason the stereo doesn't have power. I have checked fuses and all the normal things. Upon further research I have found that the ground wire is not connected and I'm not sure if it can be soldered or if it needs to be replaced completely. Any insight would be very helpful.
