Are all 99 Ford Escort coupes ZX2?
My stepson is looking to by his first car and I'm worried it might have the SOHC(known for valve seat problems. I know the ZX2 has the DOHC, that s more reliable. All I know is it is a 1999 Ford Escort coupe, automatic, 90k, and is mint green.
From what I know there were two coupe options, the cool coupe and the hot coupe. They were both ZX2, but were both only offered in manual. Are you sure it's auto?
Yes they are, the last Escort coupe was made in 1996. There were many automatic ZX2's made. All ZX2's have the DOHC 2.0L Zetec

It should get great millage but for some reason it feels like I'm not getting the power it should when it's in drive it idles rough and the rpm meter keeps jumping but when it's in neutral and park it's fine it also does it in reverse I jus got it an oil change and all new plugs and wires and new cool pak what else could it be?

- Can a Ford Escort ZX2 haul anything? It has an overdrive option, and would just like to know if it has the capability to haul anything. I'm NOT trying to haul anything big, just a something small a few miles down the road and do not have access to a truck and it is just a little bit too big to fit inside the car. I don't know anything about cars and I do know it has an overdrive option and have never used it, and would just like to know if that is a reason to use it.
- After market install 01 ford escort zx2? I have an 01 ford escort zx2 that has an after market stereo system. This vehicle is fairly new to me but for some reason the stereo doesn't have power. I have checked fuses and all the normal things. Upon further research I have found that the ground wire is not connected and I'm not sure if it can be soldered or if it needs to be replaced completely. Any insight would be very helpful.
