Why is my 2001 Ford Escape not accelerating fast enough?
I went on the freeway today, trying to get up to 75 mph and I could only get up to 65 mph for a while. My RPMs were going up faster than my actual speedometer, and my foot was on the gas, to the floor.
Sounds like the transmission is slipping. You might want to have the transmission looked at before more damage is done.
The 01 Ford Escape was notorious for it's defective throttle body. Ask your mechanic to see if there's a technical service bulletin issued for yours.
Otherwise, I think you might have a transmission problem.
- Why my car stops accelerating while driving? Have a Ford Fussion 2007. I was driving at about 40MPH and my car suddenly stops moving like if it was on neutral it accelerate by it self wth out moving even though it was on drive. I pulled over, turn it off and started again and it took me back home normally but now it did it again I took it to a mechanic and he put it in the computer but he says nothing is showing it seems that everything is ok but that car now is not moving! It only goes on reverse or low driving but not drive
- Why do the colors of average quality cars doesn't seem to be diverse enough? Brands like Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Ford, Acura, Kia, Dodge, etc. Tend to sell their cars with boring and opaque colors like gray, black, dark red and pretty much colors with no vividness. Don't you guys think they would sell more cars if they came up with more interesting colors like purple, yellow, green and other colors that could be more appealing to the eye?
- Why does my car jerk when accelerating or when I turn? I have a 1999 Ford Taurus SE. I just got an oil change. The next thing was to change the spark plugs and wires.
- Why doesn't the A/C in my car blow Air fast enough like it should? I have a 2005 Ford Mustang V6 & for some reason it won't blow air fast enough like I think it should I put it on maximum A/C on speed number 4 & I can barely feel the air any ideas?
