What's a good small SUV for tall driver?

I'm considering a small SUV and need something with leg and foot room. Being 6'3" tall with size 15 feet these are real issues. I have modified seat mounts to get needed leg room but I can't do much to gain room formy big feet, especially when wearing winter boots. I have driven a Toyota RAV-4 and the driver's ergonomics were too tight for me. Would a Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, Nissan Xterra be a better choice? Maybe something from another manufacturer? Chrysler minivans have served my purposes quite well but something with more ground clearance would be better. My needs include comfort, fuel economy, traction in snow and mud, clearance, cargo space and able to tow a lightweight boat or snowmobile trailer.

There aren't a lot of good options. The CR-V or Chevy Equinox are probably the best. I'm 6'3 too and have sat in both, they are okay, but not as good as the Honda Accord sedan. The Jeep Cherokee is good too. Just have to try them out. You are not obligated to buy an suv just because you sat in it on a lot.

With that list of requirements, I'd suggest you look at larger SUVs.

  • What small block V8 would be good for this car? I'm going to get the motor replaced in a 1964 Ford Galaxie 500. What would be a good small block V8 to get for it? It currently has a 351W in it. The Original motor was a 352. Also, who is a good supplier?
  • Small SUV for teen driver? I'm only 15 now, but my mom told me I should start researching cars and SUVs. We have agreed on Nissan Rouges, Subaru Foresters, and Toyota RAV4s (possibly Honda CRVs) NO OLDER THAN 2009… My mom drives a Subaru and really wants me to get the Forester. The problem is, Foresters are more expensive than any of the others. They are all about the same size, same mpg. What would you recommend of the four? Which is the best for a new driver? Any other suggestions? (No ford, Chevy, jeep, etc.)
  • Small trucks, good on gas? Suggestions? I'm going to be buying a small truck here in a few weeks. I've been looking mainly into Ford Rangers, I'm a girl who has no experience with trucks and I'm really needing some good advice on what small trucks would be best on gas. I need something handy that could haul a dirt bike and a few things here and there, but one that is also good on gas for driving long distances. Thank you in advance for your help, I really appreciate it!
