Should I put upgrades on my car?

So I recently bought a 2017 Escape S. It's my first new car and with Ford rebates and money down it cost 15k that I'm financing for 2 years. I know financing is dumb but yolo it's my decision. But I'm just thinking should I tint my windows and buy some rims? Or leave it as is? It's black and has 17 inch plastic/ steel wheels and currently a very light tint. Other than appearance I love this cheap car the way it is

Very few people have the money to pay for a new car in full so most will either finance or lease.

If you were leasing, modifying the vehicle would be dumb ( unless you know you are going to buy it after the lease expires ) but since it's financed, you can do whatever you want with it.

Do what you want to it, but don't do anything that would void warranty - double triple check changing wheels - shouldn't be a problem if you keep the size (diameter) the same.
Don't spend your rainy day funds on bling though - if you were to lose your job for any reasons you will likely need several months of payments to hold you over.

Use the wheel any tint money to pay down the loan

Leave it as it is.

Don't put those wheels that then require those day-old rubber band- sized tires. They look stupid. You need some meat to your tires. And, Al or Mag rims are fragile and can't be fixed like steel. No pansy spoiler, either.

Window tint is actually a good idea where I live. AC too.

It's YOUR CAR! You can put any "upgrades" you want on it.

And there's nothing wrong with FINANCING the PURCHASE of an automobile. Financing your new car for only two years is a great idea, since most people would take 4-5 years to pay off the same amount.

I have seen many guys buy a car and then put hundreds even thousands into upgrades
rims, paint, sound system,
only to have the car repo'd because they could not keep up with the payments
you should wait a few months, make sure you can make the payments
then add 1 up grade, pay it off
then add another up grade

Be careful that the modifications don't void your warranty or reduce your resale value if you want to sell or trade it later.

As long as the upgrades are cosmetic they won't void the warranty. When you start modifying the performance of the car then you run into warranty problems. Most engine, intake or suspension mods will void your new car warranty.

Financing has RULES. So ask them what you are allowed to do. Because if you should say default on payments, then they own the vehicle. Right now, they own the vehicle so you GOT TO ASK THEM.
