Is purchasing a Ford Escape with 198,000 miles on it a bad idea?
I'm looking at a 2005 Ford Escape limited with 198,880 miles on it. As I can see by the pictures I have viewed, it looks to me like this car has been very we'll maintained. By this I mean the body of the car is rust free, the leather interior is in very good shape, and all together the car looks fine to me. I'm seriously considering this vehicle and I'm just not sure if the mileage of this car is something I should worry about. The car is priced at $5,000.
Five Grand is Way too much for a vehicle with 198,000 miles on it, despite it being "pretty." I wouldn't spend more than $2,000 for it, expecting that I'm going to find $500 in repairs very quickly.
Even if the vehicle is in pristine condition, $5000 is overpriced. Try more like $3500.
have a mechanic check it out before you buy it. But keep in mind that it's a 9 year old car & it probably only has 2 or 3 years left before you need to do major engine or transmission work or just plain need a whole new car.
This is not a reliable vehicle
Look for a Toyota 4 runner or highlander
Have your mechanic look at it
- Typical lib thinking? Ford had no idea when it happened, had no idea how she got there, no idea how she left, clueless who was there? And despite that every person she listed as a witness made a statement in a sense said Ford was wrong… The lib brain… Get even at Trump…> yep - Kavanaugh did it.
- Is purchasing a Ford with 80,000 miles a good choice? So basically my boyfriend and I have been looking for a perfect van to road trip in, and we saw this absolutely perfect Ford Econoline 150 that is cutom made. The interior is in mint condition as well as the exterior and as far as I know the engine and everything is in perfect shape. Basically my question today is if this purchase would be worth it or do fords burn out quickly? The van is 1995 with 80,000 miles and it is $11,000. I think it is pretty good deal but I need a second opinion.
- Do you think buying a 2000 ford focus with 161,000 miles a good car purchase? For 1,000? I'm wondering if anyone will recommend, a 2000 ford focuse with 161,000 mileage as my first car, I recently got my drivers permit I want a car to practice my driving skills and I stubbled into the 2000 ford focus.
- Is a 2000/2001 ford explorer with 250,000 miles on it bad? Looking at a ford explorer honestly know absolutely nothing about it other than it has at least 250,000 miles on it supposedly highway and interior is a bit messed up. I haven't seen it yet but my boyfriend agreed that we wanted it already. We have kids and wanna make sure we will actually get some use out of it and it is worth paying $1000
