Is it hard to be approved with ford credit?

Anyone know how Ford Credit is? I've just applied for a finance on a 2017 ford escape, price is $38K and I'm putting $0 down. I'm 29 years old I make $20k a year and i've been at the same employer for 5 years. But i have no credit history other then my cell phone contract. Worried I will turned down, any one have experience with ford credit?

If you are trying to purchase a car that is nearly twice your yearly salary with no money down… My guess is that you'd be turned down no matter who you're trying to get loan from. It's bad business for YOU and for them.

You would be turned down even if you had several years of very good credit.

You might stand a chance on a $10k car with $3000 down. But even then, a slim one.

You are wasting your time & theirs and the salesman should have told you that.

Ford Credit is no different than any other lender. They alluse the same criteria for approving financing.

Your negatives are:

#1 - no down payment. You've been working for 5 years at a good paying job and you can't even come up with $500 cash for a down payment on a car costing $38,000? This shows that you aren't prepared to take on the debt. No planning.

#2 - No credit. You're almost 30 years old and you've done nothing in your adult life that would earn you a high credit score. That means you don't pay rent, you don't have a cable bill, you don't use a credit card, you've never made a large purchase.

#3 - The car is priced well outside your price range for the income you're earning. You earn $1666 per month. This car will cost you close to $750 a month. Insurance will cost you $150-$200. Just putting gas in the car will cost you $160 a month ($40 a fill up). That puts you over $1100 a month just to keep the car in the driveway. That gives you less than $500 a month for rent, food, utilities, clothing and car maintenance. The numbers just don't add up.

Yea your gonna pay for the truck for a lot of years before it is paid off. I doubt they will finance the full price of 38k that's a lot of money. It is $452 per month on 84 month loan with zero interest So 7 years of paying plus interest of say 5% … If your still wanting this then put 10k or more down, have you looked into insurance yet?

If you have no credit history you won't get approve for a 38k loan (well don't forget the apr taxes and all other fees) with no money down. Bring in 20% your chances are a bit higher

This won't be approved. I'm not certain how yo think you can afford this car. You haven't even money for a down payment.

If you are 29 years old with no credit, you have wasted the last 11 years of your life not building your credit. With your limited income, no down payment, and no credit, your chances are pretty slim.

Credit Union is better.
