I own a 2015 Ford Escape SE, 4WD, 1.6. It has the autolamp feature and I'm wondering if there's a way to make the autolamps turn on sooner?

As it's getting darker? I turn mine on and while I'm driving, other vehicles I see, their headlights are already on but mine don't on until it's almost dark. I'm almost certain these other vehicles are using the autolamp feature on their vehicles also.

Read the owners manual. Your car should have a day/night sensor amplifier that can be adjusted early or late to turn on the autolamp.

There should be a headlight switch on the dashboard or a stalk with positions like "Auto", "Off", "Parking", and "Headlights On". Use it to override the autolamps feature and turn the headlights on whenever you want or need them. Alternatively there should be a plastic nipple on the top of the dashboard under the windshield that houses the light sensor for the autolamps. If you put a piece of black electrical tape over that sensor, it will think you are driving in dim light and put the headlights on automatically unless the direct sun is blazing onto it. Easy!

The relays in your light control module may be going bad. Ford has had a real problem with this for years.

Hi sorry to say this is part of the computer programming in the car.

No. Its not adjustable.
