Ford Escape 2010 shifter not leaving park
The shifter in the Ford Escape 2010 is not leaving park. I've turned the car off multiple times and gone through the basic steps to starting the car and it's still not working. Gas is high. It should be working fine.
You have to press your foot on the brake pedal and push in the thumb button on the shifter while shifting into drive.
Do you have your brake pedal fully depressed? If not, it will not shift out of park.
- My gear shifter won't come out of park, my a/c, windshield wipers, and windows will not work? I have a 2001 ford focus zx3. I took it to a mechanic and he can't see me until Tuesday. He did look under the hood and said it wasn't anything simple. I've heard many things like battery cables, my computer or a fuse. What's wrong with my car and how much is it going to be to fix it?
- Insert the key and doesn't turn. Steering wheel locked. Shifter stuck in park. Can start by mechanical part under wheel. What could it be? 1999 ford f150 won't come out of park or start even when I start it using the mechanical part under the steering wheel
- Gear Shifter lights don't work (P, N, D,1,2,etc) 2004 Ford F-150 Lariat? I just bought the car and didn't see until driving it home that the Gear Shifter lights don't work, what should i do?
