Ford Escape, 06. At 75 to 80 mph, feels like the car is very wobbly, unstable. Could it be the struts need replacing>?

A year ago, had front left axle replaced. The guy who did it said that was all that was wrong, the crooks at another shop told me I needed 1500 worth of repairs, including strut replacements. Were they right, or what you think

It goes 5mph

I'm with you

Evidently "the crooks" were right if you have a wobbly ride.
Bad ball joints, tie rod ends, or control arm bushings wear out by the time you have 100,000 miles on your vehicle.
Ar eyou aware of the safety problem with the rear brake rubber hoses? The factory made them too short and every time the vehicle goes up i the air for an oil change the rubber hoses get stretched and they become frayed on the top of the hoses where they attach to the metal brake line. You can see the damage over the top of the rear tire. When those hoses rupture you lose all braking. I had a customer that ended up running a stop light and just about got T-boned when there brakes failed because of those brake hoses.

FORD… FORD ON REPAIR DALY

They were probably giving you the proper advice for safety reasons, not ripping you off. You shouldn't be driving an old Ford Escape 80 mph in the first place.

  • Why did Trump say of Dr. Ford: I thought her testimony was very compelling, looks like a very fine woman and was a very credible witness? I thought her testimony was very compelling, and she looks like a very fine woman to me. A very fine woman. It was incredible. It was an incredible moment, I think, in the history of our country. But certainly she was a very credible witness. She was very good in many respects. https://www.c-span.org/video/?452222-1/president-trump-reacts-calls-delaying-vote-kavanaugh-nomination
  • I have a Ford Ranger 4.0 and the AC doesn't blow very cool air. I want to add refrigerant for very 1st time, never have added to any vehicle? I'm using a gauge to test the pressure. With AC on max the needle moves between 25 and 45, the blue normal range. The compressor cuts on at 45 and off at 25. This happens continuously. The outside temp is 80 degrees. Not exactly understanding what I was doing, I added a little refrigerant and now the needle goes to 47 in the yellow range. Will this do any harm? Can I remove the excess refrigerant? If so, how? Is the system fully charged? If so, why isn't the air cooler?
  • Do I need new struts for my Ford Focus? I think its just the bearing (s) as my ride is unchanged and the car has the same bounce when I push and release the front end down. Of course, I'm not a mechanic and don't think i'm capable of replacing struts… Just looking for a fix that isn't $800 I have a subtle click and my tires in the front have worn rough I meant the bearings in the strut. Everything else seems solid
  • I have a 1995 ford f150 5.8 engine that feels like is misfiring? As I have the truck on park or as I'm on a stop light the truck starts shaking. But it gets worse when I get up to speed the the truck runs fine till I need some more power then it starts shaking again. At times it feels like the transmission is going bad but I took it in and they told me that it was not that, but that it could be a bad ignition coil. What do you guys think? I cleaned the egr valve and it did not fix anything.
