About how much will it cost to fix a small EVAP leak on my car?
I scanned my car with a CAN OBD2 and the code came back PO456. It says that means there's a "EVAP Emission Control System Leak Very Small" I don't think I can fix this myself. Does anyone know a ballpark estimate of what it might be if I take it to a mechanic? Thank you.
Added (1). I have a 2007 Ford Escape XLT if that matters at all.
This tends to be a bad gas cap, the locking style are notorious for leaking also, so get a new non-locking one and reset the code by handheld unit or pull the neg on battery for 5mins and put it back on to reset the fault code.
- Will any supercharge kit that fits small bolck engine fit a 302 v8 small block engine? Its a 1967 ford f100 project truck 302 small block v8 engine link to the supercharger kit http://m.summitracing.com/parts/vor-4gp218-050l?seid=srese1
- My 2000 Ford Windstar has a coolant leak. What could be causing it to leak? It has two leaks. One is from the passenger side near the front tire and the second is right below the driver's seat. I have to replace the coolant after I have had the heater on for a bit. I never have it on for more than 15 min. Not because the coolant runs out in that time but I just don't use it for long. I took it to the mechanic and he stated it was the "lower intake manifold gasket". I'm asking if anyone has any other ideas because that repair is pretty pricey.
- Is it true that all cars pretty much cost the same to fix? I'm 16 and I was talking about cars with my dad. I'm buying my own car. I told him that I just wanted to buy a regular car because high end luxury cars cost too much to repair. He said that pretty much all cars will cost the same to maintain and repair. Would it cost the same to maintain a 2006 BMW as a 2006 Ford? I'm just talking about luxury cars vs regular cars. Not super/sports cars. Could I take a BMW or Mercedes to a local mechanic?
- How much does it cost to fix/replace the gas gauge to a 1977 Ford F100 Custom pickup truck? Project vehicle. Just looking for an estimate, because that's GOT TO BE the first thing that gets fixed.
