Why doesn't my car start? - 1
When I turn the key to try to start it all it does is make high pitch squeaking noise like its trying to. I have ford tempo 1994 lx with 70k miles. Also when i switch gears it makes an awful screeching sound. I did have someone with a little knowledge look at it and he said that power isn't getting to the distributor but i don't know if that can be the case.
Your starter bendex is worn out or you have ground down teeth on the flywheel… Removing the starter will allow you to inspect the flywheel if the teeth look good replace the starter
- Why doesn't car manufacturers provide their own car insurance? I always ask myself this question. Why doesn't the Ford, Chevrolet, Mercedes Benz, Toyota, Nissan, and more provide their own car insurance? It's doesn't make a lot of sense to leave the insurance duties to companies that knows little to nothing about cars. Plus, Insurance would be cheaper. Sick and tired of getting RIP off by the Geico, and State farms of the world. What do you people think?
- Why did my car start and die when put into gear? Now it won't start at all? It's a cold winter day (below zero) Car started right up! I let it run for about 2 minutes, I put it in gear and it just died. I figured it's cold out, not real surprising, but when I tried to start it again, it won't start! - I have a 97 Ford Ranger, 4.0, in good shape, 102,000 miles and it doesn't start as well as I think it should. It cranks strong, and has new? Motorcraft plugs and fuel filter. I've cleaned the MAF sensor and throttle body and the truck runs fine and there's no misfire. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but I think the truck should start when I turn the key instead of having to crank 2-3 times. I've also installed a new IAC valve. Any suggestions on how to get the truck to start better?
