Strange noise in 2010 ford edge passenger dash area?

I have a 2010 Ford EDGE SEL. Its a great car but recently, it has been making this terribly annoying rattling sound coming from beneath the dash on the passenger's side. It is coming from right where the bottom of the windshield meets the dash area. I can't figure out what is making the sound. I even wend beneath the dash to feel around, but couldn't find any loose parts. It sounds like something loose and rattling around. Every small bump or even the bass from my sub woofer makes it rattle. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

Sounds like that sometimes appear to come from somewhere where in fact they come from a different place altogether. I had a rattle seemingly coming from the console between the seats which I couldn't trace for the life of me. When I removed a cd case from the glove box some distance away the sound disappeared immediately…

Based on my experience, I suggest you take everything out of the car, emptying the glovebox, door pockets, storage nooks, shelves etc. Entirely and see if that makes a difference.

If i had this complaint brought to me, the first things id do would to be remove all things from the car (as stated by champer) if the vibrations happens while stationary (i.e. Speaker sounds causing the vibrations) check all the plastic inside the car, and also check around the engine bay for loose bolts, nuts, parts. However if it happens while moving the car (you mentioned the small bumps causing it) i would be checking tire pressure, tire tread depth (tread depth gauges are super cheap, unless the tire is obviously wearing unevenly) and see if all 4 grooves in the tires (each tire) are all evenly deep, then move on to your front suspension parts to check for everything being in correct place, all of this can be done in a few minuets in your driveway, just a quick look over everything, no actual mechanical work needed

I recommend taking your Edge to a Ford Dealer to be properly diagnosed. Ask to speak with the service manager. He'll be in the best position to look into what is actually causing the noise, and advise the next steps.
