How do you remove scratches from car?
I bought a Ford Edge the other day and it had a good bit of scratches on it. It's a silver car and some of the scratches are black, some are whitish/silver, and some are still silver. Some are rough feeling and others you can barely feel at all. So I'm assuming some are deeper than others. What can I buy to fix this and now do I do it? I was gonna get it fixed at a body shop but I was gonna be too expensive.
Paint
Put a cover over it when you park it up haha! No joke i can guarantee half them scratches are from cats that sit on your car in the night…
I forgot to mention, the previous owner tried to touch up spots with paint and there's a few paint streaks running down the car.
Tl;dr thanks for the 2 points loser
For me, there's a four-step process.
For very light scratches, I try some windex (to clean it) and then some normal car polish.
If that doesn't work, I try some polishing compound, which has more grit to it.
If that doesn't work, I try some rubbing compound, which has quite a bit of grit in it.
If that doesn't work or I know that the scratch is deep, I move to one of the replacement paint containers sold by the dealership, and very lightly fill in the scratch, using a bit at a time, and then after it's dry I put on a top coat and some car polish.
- If you have a car accident with a borrowed car, whose insurance are you covered by? Okay, my dad just totaled my grandma's 1999 Ford Taurus wagon. He was trying to turn and we hit a Nissan Frontier. The Nissan was fine, but the Ford is totaled, and my dad has never been in accident like this ever before. Does this go under my dad's insurance or my grandma's? She did give him the permission to drive it.
- If you have a judgment against you on your credit report will you still be able to buy a house? Judgment is from 2008 and it's from Ford motor credit on mileage when we turned in a leased vehicle
- How to remove windsheild decal- car? I'm not talking about stickers or decals I had to replace my windsheild after it mysteriously broke and since I didn't go to the ford dealer it no longer has the for symbol in the corner. What I would like to know is if there's a way to scrape or remove the off brand decal that is on the new one? Would sand paper or a razor work?
- How to remove the headunit from a Ford car? It's the one with the 4 holes, but when i insert the tools, only one side will budge. Also, on the side that is stuck, the tool just pushes all the way through with no resistance
