Took at a look at a 98 Ford E150 conversion van today.
Cool van but I have some questions
I took the van to Goodyear to get it checked out and one of the issues was that the "trans line" was "seeping.
He said it wasn't "leaking" but that the line (i guess tube?) was damp and that the transmission fluid was 1 qt low.
The van has 186k miles on it, automatic and the guy is asking $2500, plus 2 new tires, rear break pads, an alignment and an oil change would cost an additional $400+.
After putting it in my name, that is close to the money that I have and I seriously fear a transmission problem, but I need a van like this for long distance travelling (I can make good money on the road, just need another vehicle since my last was flipped).
One other problem was that the front left rotor is "starting to rust on inside edge".
Front right wheel bearing has "a little movement".
Anti freeze is "a little low" and oil is 1.5 quarts low.
So the lights inside worked. The radio worked. The switches worked.
The seats were torn up but the van was overall decent condition inside.
but it was a little dirty inside.
and although not too dirty (I could just scrub it down), I saw about 5 mouse pellets in the drivers cup holder.
Really made me wonder.
Van drove fine to the Goodyear but I felt it was a little "airy" or windy. Sort of hollow sounding? When driving it back.
I wanted to think it over so here I'm asking now.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
