Help solve my car mystery?
I recently bought a 2015 Ford Edge. It makes a squeaking noise (not crazy loud but noticeable, and not the same kinda squeak as a worn out belt) when driving, the wheel shakes when doing 55+ miles, and the brakes vibrate. The squeaking stops when I hit the brakes and turn, but they do still vibrate. We took it to a mechanic, they took the brakes apart, did some work on the rotors, balanced the tires, did an alignment and stated the rest of the brakes were fine. After all that work nothing has changed and every time we take it to a mechanic they tell us they can't find a problem, but they can hear the noise were talking about… Is there anything non brake related that could be causing this noise and shaking?
Suspension maybe?
I thought Ford was doing better than that…3 years and it's got all those problems. Shimmying when you use the brakes is usually warped rotors and the cause for that is often overtightening the lugs, but can also be caused by slamming into the curb. Overheating the brakes can also warp the rotors. The shaking wheels could have a few causes, including bad shocks, misalignment, unbalanced, internal tread separation.
"did some work on the rotors"? What was done on it? If they were not replaced, get them replaced.
Sounds like maybe you have a front wheel bearing about to fail or perhaps something is going on with the front transaxel assembly.
Hi so time to be using a ford dealer they will diagnose the problems and give you an estimate *** to the cost.
- Would a new fuel pump solve my problem? I have a 2004 Ford Ranger 3.0L and has recently had issues starting up. I have to turn the key to ignition about 4 times before it can start normally. some details: -The engine cranks completely fine. -Fuel Filter has been replaced -Battery is new -Fuses have been replaced -Fuel pump relay does work -once turned off, it will start again perfectly if started directly afterwards Would a new fuel pump help me out?
- About to get a 73 ford capri 2.8 V6 any help on what parts and can buy to make it an all together better car? I'm just trying to think of parts to get for it be more reliable my friends already told me cold intake, duel exhaust but I want to go a little deeper but anything helps also I'll be using the highway alot. I plan on turning it into 5speed right know it's a 4 speed manual. I'm going to be driving it alot so anything that helps I might swap the engine but knew someone when swapped it with a 5.0 mustang engine but it twisted the frame
- Help me with car engine obd car codes? I own a 1998 Ford Contour Sport V6 engine. It has 52,354 original miles. But I'm getting a code it's P0174 says bank 2 too lean. ( is that due to one thing or multiple things)? Also B1600 Anti theft module ignition key transponder And the last one is B1601 signal not received. I had someone do the OBD thing to my car and he wrote this all done in paper. I included a photo with the original paper he gave me
- Used car help? Good models? My 2000 Ford Focus was a good car but it's just about had it. What are some good make/models, $5000 and under, preferably between 2001 and 2005? I want something a little sporty (but not a mustang) along with comfort, and RELIABILITY. I was really looking at Bmw 325i's but don't know much about them.
