No way its a ticking time bomb. Everything will be rooted

If it ran well, and got checked out by my mechanic, I might buy it for 400 or 500 dollars -- assuming I needed a truck for hauling junk.

Get the steering assembly checked out for wear. Ford has a bad history of losing the entire front end when it wears out. Costs more than a motor job.
If the mechanic gives you a clear on that front… The mileage is within NORMAL usage range, so not fearing anything wild and woolly there. Normal brake wear so they may have to be replaced, exhaust system may have to be replaced soon, and battery lasts about 6 years so you are nearing the end of life of the second battery (which is $100approx) for another 5 year battery.

What you see and what your mechanic TELLS YOU makes it Your decision to buy or not. The cars are suppose to be built "better" as FORD claims so, maybe they are?

I'm not shopping for a FORD so don't really care. Your decision is your decision. Use Consumer reports as a guide on the reliability of a 2010 Ford Edge to see what other owners complain about… Except look at a couple of years newer so you have a repair history.(there's no repair history on a NEW Vehicle; so look at 2014? If they still make the Edge so there will be a "history" which goes back 7 years. It gives you a "ROUGH" IDEA what to possibly expect.

You are more informed that way.

If it would last 3 or 4 months, it would be worth $400. But when it started breaking down and costing money, it would need to be sold for junk. Fixing cars are expensive, and with that many miles you can expect things to break.

No siree!

No

25,000 miles per year… No.

At some price, Id buy a lot of things.

I would not pay a lot because a motor and/or transmission could be needed before long. And when that happens do you want to sink $3000+ into it?

For the right price, and has it had regular maintainence? There should be paperwork to prove this
