How much does it cost to import a car/truck from the US to the UK?
Hi, i'm interested in buying a Ford F250 in the america in a few years, the cost of the car will be approximately $40-50k. I will buy it while on holiday but i'm unsure how much it will cost to bring back to the Uk. If anyone can help me with the total cost it will be much appreciated,

Purchase price: £30,000.
Shipping cost: around £2,500.
Import duty, V.A.T. And brokerage charges: around £10,000.
I.V.A. Test: £100 (plus, potentially thousands of pounds modifying the truck, to get it to pass).
Insurance: think of a big number and double it - personal imports cost way more to insure than UK registered vehicles.
Total cost: well in excess of £50,000 (and "… In a few years…" all those costs will have gone up).
About £1000 for shipping, Vat and duty around £10000 to £12000
About £70,000 including shipping, VAT, import duty, and processing fees.
Ball park £5k to put it on road legal UK plates, but it'll be an awful truck to use in this country.
- How much does a typical third car service cost? My car is due its third service beginning of next year it will be three years old then it is a ford ka the newer but basic version no central locking etc I was wondering if anyone knows roughly how much it will be for its third service? I've been told that the third service is a big one? Like basic if nothing needs doing i just want to save up every week until then any help will really help thank you!
- Is Saturn considered import or domestic? I'm wondering whether a Saturn car/truck/etc is considered an imported vehicle (not build in North America, such as Mazda, VW, Honda, etc.) or a domestic one (built in North America, such as Ford, Chev, Dodge, etc.). I'm pretty sure it is domestic, but just checking to be sure.
- How much does it cost to fix/replace the gas gauge to a 1977 Ford F100 Custom pickup truck? Project vehicle. Just looking for an estimate, because that's GOT TO BE the first thing that gets fixed.
- How much does it cost to repair AC in a car? I have a 2005 Ford Focus and its air conditioner no longer blows cold air. Last summer, my father tried using AC Pro to fix it and it didn't really work, but I don't know if he did it right. How much would it probably cost to bring to a mechanic to check it out?
