How long I can go on ford 350 using synthetic oil before oí change is required?

I drive all the on hy ways and all most never turn engine off

It could probably go a very long way but no where near as far as it would if maintained properly. I've seen an alloytec do 100k k's just being topped up. That car went to scrap at 130k kms.

Depends on which Ford engine you have but with the modular engines, 5.4 3 valve especially, you want to change out oil at 5K miles MAX even with synthetics because the Variable Valve Timing solenoid, cam phasers, and chain tensioners all rely on healthy oil. The VVTs are very prone to clogging because of the design, and poor oil change regimes are the main reason they do clog. Most 350 trucks were meant to carry more, tow more and work hard, so taking an expensive truck to have bought or replace and not changing oil on an average basis at least is pretty risky. Also realize that following the Ford manual for changing tranny and differential fluids is not a good idea, the concept as told by some techs I know is let the owners not change fluid PER the manual schedule and then when the units fail they aren't under warranty and cost a full-priced rebuild/replacement. So, my advice is to change the fluids if you haven't already, have a competent tech inspect and DOCUMENT the changes and conditions in the parts just to cover yourself.

Fully synthetic oil tends to last longer, oil changes are dependent on the car use and condition of the oil. Consult the owners manual, which can usually be found online if you don't have it. Rule of thumb is no more than 10,000 miles without an oil change but true car enthusiasts would go for less than that.

There's a big difference between how long you CAN go and how long you SHOULD go. I personally won't go more than 5,000 miles with synthetics because what most people consider as 'average' driving conditions actually qualifies as severe use - i.e. Lots of short trips of 15 minutes or less and lots of cold engine starts.

As long as the recommended interval the manufacturer recommends.

DOES not matter if it is dirty change it.

Gas engine about seven thousand miles, diesel I would change it around five thousand miles, I would also change the filter at each change; this is very good maintenance ideal

  • What kind of Synthetic Oil does Ford use? GM recommends Dexos in all newer GM s. Does Ford have a specialty oil that they recommend/prefer? Especially something that won't void a warranty
  • Remanufactured Ford Long Block Engine. When should I get first oil change? Recently had a Ford remanufactured 2.5L 4cyl long block engine replaced in my car. Other than obviously not beating on the engine, I'm curious as to when to get the first oil change. I've came across a few different answers ranging from 1k miles to 2.5k. I'm creeping up to 1k mile on the engine and would be grateful for insights.
  • Is the oil for a 2013 Ford Fusion synthetic only? Just went to Pep Boys and wanted a conventional oil change on my car, which takes 5W-20. Apparently their records state that they "can only legally put in synthetic oil" since it's what the manufacturer recommends. The last time I was here they did it with normal oil, no problem. Did I just get screwed?
  • What type of full synthetic oil to put in 2005 ford focus? I have a 2005 ford focus ST zx4 and need to add oil, this is the first time adding oil since I bought the car. All I know is that the previous owner used full synthetic. I have to add just about a quarter of oil until an oil change in a few weeks. I have heard that full synthetic 5w-30 or 5w-40 is good but no lower than 5w-30 or I can take the chance of blowing up my car… Any thoughts on this?
