2019 Ford Superduty, electric trailer jack issue?

So I just bought a 2019 F-350. The trailer I use for work has an electric jack which will now not work with the new truck connected to it. It worked fine on the 2018 that I had. My co worker with his 2019 Chevy plugged into it and the jack works. I plugged into a different trailer with the same jack and it worked, but that trailer has an onboard battery on it, mine does not. Ford can't figure it out. I did find out that the jack will work once the truck it put into drive, but not park! Kind of hard to hook up a trailer with the truck in drive! Again, sounds very strange.

Thoughts?

My trailer repair place thinks the only way he can see a fix is to run a wire from the battery to the connector making it hot all of the time.

That should tell you that the Power runs thru the Range Selector (Neutral Safety Switch) on the Transmission. You're right in thinking it shouldn't work in gear. Someone will need to look at the Wiring Schematic to see how it's wired and figure out the fix. That would probably be to bypass the Range Selector. It's hard to believe a new truck would have a bad Range Selector, but not impossible. Almost forgot: Does it work in Neutral?

A good professional car electrician with an access to a wiring diagram of your truck can figure this out. You need to find one. But you might want to look at the manual first and see if you are just missing a procedure.

  • Why Ford uniform rental end up inside trunk of Crown Victoria behind the jack up tools? Why would someone put it and hide them inside my trunk? It's blue one piece clothes which only mechanics wear. Since I brought car from old man years ago, my tire got flat so I went in trunk and go behind the wall to get tools to jack car up and uniform with tiny blanket end up in there. Do they put this in every Crown Victoria when assembling in factory? You won't find it because it was hidden behind tools which you use to change the tire.
  • Where do I jack up my 2002 Ford Taurus? I just bought a 2002 Ford Taurus with the intent to flip it. I found out that the gas tank is leaking on it. The car is originally from Ohio meaning it has driven over a lot of salted roads during the winter. The car's manuel recommends using the notches just under the door and in front of/behind the wheels as jack points. Both notches on the rear of the vehicle are rusted out (gone), so how am I supposed to raise the back side of my vehicle up to look at the gas leak?
  • Any new interesting news about Gm, Ford or mopar performance vehicles coming out in 2018,2019? Trucks, cars, trucks, SUVs, Hatchbacks? Mopars has brought out extreme amounts of muscle cars, trucks, SUVs, full size and mid size sedans. Other than cadillac is there any other American an brands coming to compete? Or is mopar going to compete with the raptor/Shelby for trucks or for small/hatchback against Ford and there focus st/r's?
