Driving with a busted hi-beam?
Me and my stepdad are in a despute cause I just got a 76 Torino (ford)
And the left hi beam is busted and he says I can get a ticket.
But fact is I would rarely use the Hibeams
Both the low beams work fine
I'm looking for answers from people who know Indiana traffic laws
A officer would be good.
A police officer will not know your high beams aren't working if your low beams are.
Your Dad is correct. It does not matter if you use your high beams or not, the fact is your light is broken and you could be written a "fix-it" ticket to have repaired.
I never drive with high beams on…
The only kind of high beam I love is the ones on women who wear neon sweaters.
LOL:
Really; Its no problem.
It could be considered a safety issue. So if you got stopped and a vehicle inspection was done you could be fined.
It doesn't matter IF you USE them.
The point of getting a ticket is to tell you that your car needs to be repaired BEFORE you NEED to use them.
In mast cases, if you are polite and kind to the officer, instead of being a smartass or trying to feed the officer this: I don't sue them" bullsh*t, you will get only a warning. But if you get stopped a second time, and the warning is still in the system, you will get ticketed, and possibly that car will be towed.
I doubt if the police would even notice it. In any case, go to a parts store and get a new light.
- Listed as driving an ATV on my speeding ticket when I was driving a Truck? I live in Minnesota and received a speeding ticket yesterday. When I looked it over it said the vehicle was an ATV. I was driving a Ford Truck. Is this how they list all trucks on tickets or did the officer make a mistake. The citation was correct just not the type of vehicle.
- Every car I get the clutch goes, am I driving bad? First car was a Peugeot 206 2004 - 68,000 miles My car now is a ford ka 2008 - 45,000 miles Is it my driving or just the cars? Also how long before the clutch goes? It is rattling when I press on the clutch and also the gears were slipping and hard to get into today.
- Dim Low Beam on 2001 Ford Focus? A few days ago, I tried replacing my headlight bulbs with halogen ones, but one of them burnt instantly, so I installed the old ones back. The problem is that now the low beam is very dim, I can't see anything at night. The high beam works perfectly (high and low beam are in the same bulb). Also, when I switch to the low beam, the high beam indicator on the dash is dimly lit. Any ideas on what the problem might be?
- Car noise when started, goes away within few minutes after I start driving? Any one can help me? I took a short video below. Thanks! The car is a 2002 FORD focus. The noise is there when I start the car after it is sitting there overnight or two nights. It goes away within few minutes after I start driving.
