Drivers, Why can't the police use sports car for chasing?

Why are they just using ford?

Budget. Some of them do if they confiscate one.

They have used Mustangs and Cameros in the past. The new cars and suvs have some very powerful engines and better suspensions now days, so don't need sports cars as much.

There isn't car made that can out run a Police Radio. They don't need sports cars to catch you.

They have high performance modifications

A lot of them drive hemi Chargers here.

Chases are strongly discouraged: they endanger the public, the suspect, and the officers. Even the normal sedans are unsuited for chases across fields. Helicopters are better than any car and radio is better than any vehicle.

The police in the city of Scottsdale, AZ, used Bricklins in the late 1970s. They were miserable failures… See the source.

They do in many countries, but not in the USA. I hope to God English isn't your first language.

They use cars from whatever dealer the city or county makes a contract with.

Some police departments DO use "sporty cars" like Mustang or Camaro for pursuit vehicles, but since MOST police work DOES NOT involve high speed chases, they prefer the utility of a four-door sedan or SUV over a small coupe type vehicle.

APPARENTLY you haven't been to many places or you would know that they DO use them.

In Miami, they have a Lambo.

  • Can a police officer buy a brand new unmarked police car with out his department's Do Dodge and Ford sell their unmarked police cars to individual police officers if the officers directly contact Dodge or Ford? • I have a Ford Focus and all day long people in sports cars try to race me. Why? Today it was a Camaro and a Mustang. Yesterday it was a Porsche 911. The other day an Evo. Last week it was a guy in a Buggati. Why? Is the Ford Focus seriously that bad *** that these guys just need to take it down a notch? I didn't get this many challenges in my WRX. Does it feel good to beat a car that has no chance? Isn't that a lot like a 12th grader beating up a 6th grader?
  • Central locking failed can't open drivers door? I have a Ford Focus 1999 and the central locking has failed to the point where the drivers door is permanently locked and can't be opened even with the key. I've changed the fuse (thanks ford for making it the only fuse at the rear of the fuse box) but this has not worked. I'm having to enter the car via the passenger door and climb over! Is there a way to reset the central locking or does anyone know how I can fix the problem?
