Do I have any options? Ford won't
I received a recall letter from Ford in the mail two weeks ago due to 2 malfunctions. The first one it was a malfunction with the door latches, 2nd one fuel tank malfunction as well. I took it in for the door latches only since the parts for the 2nd malfunction was gonna take 3 weeks to get there. So they told me it should get fixed by the next day. So I went to the dealership to pick it up and I was told that the car would not turn on. They told me that they were going to fix it for free since the car wasn't like that when I left it. But that it was gonna take 3 weeks to get fix. I asked for a rental but they're refusing to get me one. Now I don't have a car! Called 1800 # and they won't do anything.
Use your car insurance policy for a rental car.
Why don't you use your insurance policy? Do you not have insurance?
So, the fuel tank issue hit your car and the part is backordered because of the recall. Ford CAN'T do anything to get your car fixed faster. They SHOULD cover a rental car until yours is fixed.
Call your state's Attorney General.
Talk with the dealership District Rep and let him know you're going to call the Better Business Bureau. They hate that.
They can get the car to turn on. That place is full of gear heads. They know how to "cheat". I want my car and I'm leaving Dodge.
You make me happy I have Toyotas. When we took ours in for recall work and parts were back ordered, the recall also rented us a loaner for until ours was completely repaired. If the ford dealer can't get your car to start and run after you drove it to them, they DO owe you a loaner for until they can fix what they messed up.
- What are my options when my car lease is up? I leased a car through ford for 2 years. It has been a year now and I'm looking into my options for when it is up. I would like to get a new truck so can I take my leased car to a different dealership and trade it in as a trade in? If not what are my options
- Need options on a break cylinder job for a 03 ford Taurus car? Need a few pointers and options on a car. So the break cylinder was bad and it got replaced. But it's still leaking a little fluid (not as much before it was replaced) and the car won't stop at all. Does the breaks need bled or what? The car won't stop period and it was driven for a bit with the cylinder bad. Is there a chance a lot of air is in the break lines and need bled? But would that make it leak a little fluid from the cylinder? Just need some options on what to do next.
- My 2008 ford ranger Truck is making a Grinding noise when clutch is engaged/press. What are my options? I attach a youtube video of a different car making the same sound. Is my only option to replace the clutch or can it be adjusted? If anybody could link a repair manual to a 2008 ford ranger that would be awesome. I tried google and torrent sites but had no luck
- Do you think the Brand New Ford ranger needs more engine options? I think the 2.3 Ecoboost is very capable, but in many cases, stronger engines distinguish more premium (or) sportier trims from the Base trim. Do you feel that higher priced trims need a V6 to compete against others in the segment?
