Do all the new trucks look like they lost there rugged look?

I have a 00 xterra and love it all the new vehicles like rams and fords even the chevys look like they have lost there truck looks I don't know how to explain it but they look pussified to me the real trucks are in the past now why do they all look like soccer mom trucks? Or Maybe i'm stuck in the past?

That's because there ARE a lot more soccer moms buying and driving 4-door pickups these days, and the manufacturers are catering to them with styling and interiors more like cars than working vehicles.

Nope. I'm 100% in agreement with you on this. Every year they look more like SUVs without the full body then an actual TRUCK.

I'm totally in agreement.

"look" like they have? Try "have" lost rugged, period.

New Chevy trucks have a 15* approach angle (how steep terrain can be in front of the vehicle before the front edge of the vehicle hits the slope). 1970's and 80's chev pickups had a 30* approach angle. I'm sure Dodge and Ford are there too.

Big diesels are one of the driving factors here, they tend to be taller than the gas engines, so they need a higher hood line, OR lower bumper to cram it all in. On top of that, as mentioned, the vast majority of trucks sold anymore, are not used as trucks. They are highly inefficient status symbols, and apparently what people graduate to from the ridiculous lowered imports.
