Can you use Auto transmission fluid as power steering fluid.in a Ford AU Series III?
Can I use auto transmission fluid as power steering fluid in a 2002 AU Series III Ford Falcon. Is it pretty much the same thing.
Used to be the same but that was a LONG time ago…
Buy proper PS fluid. It's only a few $$
I would take no chances with a late model car.
In some cases it is indeed the same. In many cases, though, it is not. Use what is specified for your car.
Your car requires Formula F Power Steering Fluid.
Probably. Read your manual, then ask them at the auto parts store, and they will look it up for you. If you can use either, I always use transmission fluid, because you get much more, plus you can use what's left over to service your transmission.
- 2001 Ford Taurus power steering fluid leak? My husband bought a new power steering pump and installed it last week, but when he added the power steering fluid it leaked out almost immediately. Any idea of what would cause this?
- When changing the power steering pump on a KA (54) can you use PTFE tape to seal the pressure line from pump? I have changed the power steering pump on a ford KA (54) and when removing the pressure line from the pump there was some kind of seal on it but I don't know what it was, so I was hopping that PTFE tape would do the same job at sealing the thread. Any help please. Andy.
- How is the fluid from my radiator on my 1996 Ford Thunderbird mixing with my auto transmission fluid? I've asked and asked and no one seems to have an answer. Please any ideas would be helpful to give me some sort of clue as to where to start to get this fixed. The car still runs fine but its starting to effect the gears changing. Please any ideas would help.
- Can I put Comma PSF power steering fluid in my 52 plate Ford Fiesta 1.6 Ghia? As above, the manual says use fluid meeting WSA-M2C 195A in but I can't find anywhere if the comma PSF stuff is okay, and have now bought it but don't wanna put it in if it will ruin the system!
