Can you put a 5.0 engine from a 1986 thunderbird into a 1985 Lincoln town car?

I have a wrecked 1986 Ford Thunderbird and I want to put the engine into a 1985 town car. I was wondering if this can be done, and if so, what problems could I run into?

Yep. No problems, except I think the '85 Town car had a carburetor while the '86 Mustang had fuel injection. So use the carb'd intake manifold & other needed parts from the old Town Car engine.

They are the same good old 302 ci. 5.0L V8. They were used in quite a few different vehicles. Here's what I know of.

I accidentally used the same bottle I put gas in to put water in my 99 Ford Explorer radiator and now it's been over heating non stop, I'm on the side of the highway now. The water comes out brown and gooey and I bought Prestone Flush+Cleaner, twice I followed the steps and it still overheats and the brown gooey stuff, oh yea and I'm not sure if this is bad but there's white smoke coming out of the exhaust
