Can I switch from a 235/65-17 tire and rim to a 215/70-15 tire and rim?
My 02 ford windstar lx had an engine blow so I had to get another vehicle. I bought an 04 Chrysler pacifica that needs tires. The Chrysler has 17 inch rims, and the van 15 inch. I want to switch the van tires and rims to the Chrysler because I can't afford new tires. Is this okay to do?
After blowing the engine in your windstar as a new engine would have cost more than the van itself as you got a pacifica as it needs new tires. Ford and Chrysler have different bolt patterns as there's no way you can swap the van's tires for the tires on the crossover. Since you can't afford new tires as the only way you can get new tires is to check with your local wrecking yards to find out what steel is going for and drop your windstar off and use the payments the wrecking yard gives you for new tires.
The rims on the two vehicles are not interchangeable. The wheel bolt pattern on the Ford is not the same as that on the Chrysler. Can't happen.
No, they will not fit. The Ford has a different bolt pattern than the Chrysler.
No. Won't clear the brakes and wrong bolt pattern.
