Can I replace my CVT Nissan transmission with another make/model?

I have a 2011 Nissan Sentra. My CVT transformation is having lots of problems. I've read that many Nissans from 2001-2016 are having issues with the CVT. I'm looking to replace the transmission, can I use another makers, like Chevy or Ford, CVT transmission? Or am I stuck with having to go with another Nissan CVT?

If you are independently wealthy you can change with another manufacturer but the best bang for the buck is to either FIX the CVT or replace with the exact same model/year. The overhead of retro-fitting (read as labor dollars) and custom parts would be staggering and with the computers and other controllers likely impossible.

You're stuck…

It CAN be done, but not at a price that is cost effective, and even if you did get another transmission to fit and work it would probably be even less reliable than the original Nissan transmission.

I mean if you really wanted to build out a custom Nissan Sentra and it just HAD to have a Chevy 6 speed transmission then you could pay a custom chop shop to make it happen, but it would cost more than the car is worth.

It would be far cheaper to just repair or replace the Nissan CVT and/or take your losses by selling the Sentra and buying something else with higher reliability ratings.

If you're an idiot who likes wasting his money, yes.
