Can I put a dvd player in my van where the vcr was?

I bought a 2003 Ford Windstar to accommodate my growing family. It has a vcr in it. It plays tape.
But I was wondering if it were possible to update it and put a dvd player in there instead? My kids are 9,5 and 4 mths. So they movies they would be into are not on vhs. Apart from older disney movies which are a big hit but ya know, they're all sad they can't watch Frozen on it
As the driver it doesn't bother me if I can play dvds in there. I'm not watching it haha
So, is it possible?

It should be. However, you need to keep in mind the dimensions of the VCR, to use as a guide when shopping for a DVD player to fit into the same space.

Obviously, you can't take a DVD player for the home and stick it in where the VCR used to be; you'd have to use one designed for automotive applications.

Having said that, one company with which I've dealt in the past for my car audio needs, Crutchfield (http://www.crutchfield.com), may also be able to help you, not only with choosing a suitable player, but also with installation; they offer installation kits and how-to instructions, either via phone or video, IIRC.
