What's wrong with my 93 bronco?
Hi guys I have a 1993 ford bronco automatic 5.0 302 engine and my transmission shifts fine and doesn't slip, but it makes a sort of scratching rattle noise when I shift into drive or park i think a bearing went bad or needs to be greased? I think they have the e4od trans
Can you give us more info?
Do you have a column shift and does the noise sound like it's near the brake pedal? There's a bearing at the bottom of the steering column (in the engine compartment). You can get some spray lubricant and spray up into the bottom of the column (where the shaft comes out) and see if this helps.
If the noise happens when you shift it into park it's not the t-case chain. Or anything having to do with the t-case.
I'm thinking torque converter. A friend of mine had a problem noise like that once and had the transmission flushed. Noise went away almost completely.
If it's 4WD it's probably the chain in the transfer case. Last rebuilt transfer case cost $1,800. Add labor and I'll bet you would be better of looking for a different ride.
- Will a lift kit on a bronco ll fit explorer? My buddy swelling me his 1989 bronco ll with a blown tranny. It's lifted and i was wounding if the lift kit would fit my 1994 Ford explorer? They are both 4x4 and share similar specs. The Bronco has a suspension lift so I'm assuming it would be a easy swap but i don't want to waste my money
- Why does my 1994 Ford Bronco start intermittently? Sometimes when I start my 1994 Ford Bronco, I hear the fuel pump run for about five seconds and stop. The truck starts right up. Other times when I go to start it the fuel pump never shuts off and runs continuously, and the truck will not start, Weather doesn't seem to affect it. Any Ideas?

- Can you replace a ford 2.9 in a 89 Bronco 2 with a 4.0? Can you replace a 2.9 in A 89 Bronco 2 with a 4.0? An how much of a problem would it be. Do i need to switch out trans or transfer case, fly wheel, rear end, ect, any help would be great thanks
