LEDS in a 1994 Ford Bronco?

I put some LED turn signals in place of my old halogen in my 1994 Ford Bronco. Expecting hyperflash, I bought resistors. Instead, the turn signals don't work at all. What's the problem. (Also, which wires would I wire the resistor to if need be?)

Issue with putting LEDs in an old vehicle like that is they don't draw enough current to activate the "flasher" mechanism properly.

The Resistors need to be wired Across (in parallel) with the new lamps, so the circuit draws the normal amount of power again.

So an old style 20W lamp will be drawing about 1.6 Amps when it's lit up. You replace that with a LED that only draws 0.2 amps (for the same amount of light). So now you have to put a resistor across the circuit to suck off another 1.4 amps to keep things "normal"

  • Why does my 1994 Ford Bronco start intermittently? Sometimes when I start my 1994 Ford Bronco, I hear the fuel pump run for about five seconds and stop. The truck starts right up. Other times when I go to start it the fuel pump never shuts off and runs continuously, and the truck will not start, Weather doesn't seem to affect it. Any Ideas?
  • Strange, intermittent alarm sound in 1994 Ford Bronco? I'm looking to identify the source the sound in this video: It doesn't seem to be connected to anything that I do in the vehicle, and you can hear it cuts in and out mid beep.
  • Should I buy a ford bronco or Ford Explorer? Considering buying either a 1994 ford bronco Eddie Bauer 5.0 v8 or 1995 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 4.0 v6 which is the better in your opinion?
  • Problems with 1994 Ford Bronco 4x4? I'm having problems with my 1994 Ford Bronco 5.8. The 4x4 went out and the light it stuck on 4x4 but it is not in 4x4. First the 4x4 high went out, but the 4x4 low worked. Then a few months later the low went out as well. The light, as I said, is now stuck on, but there's no clicking or movement anywhere when you press the buttons. Any help?!
