I need tips for buying a good Ford Bronco?

I've always wanted a Ford Bronco, I don't care what the year is but I need tips on buying a good vehicle. I'm 17, I own a 2005 Dodge Stratus and that was the biggest mistake of my life. It broke 3 weeks after I bought it and has been a money pit since. I don't want a repeat. I'm very interested in learning about cars and how to fix them.

Save up about $10,000 for a good condition lower (under 100,000 mile) 20+ year old specimen. Budget for single digit city mileage and low/mid teen mileage on the highway.

At 20+ years old, be ready for brittle interior plastic, rust, and any rubber components starting to deteriorate/fail.

Want a reliable vehicle? Consult Consumer Reports car issue and read the reliability statistics of most cars sold in the US. The Ford Bronco will NOT be among the reliable vehicles.

They made the Bronco up to 1996. So you are looking for a 20 year old vehicle at the BEST. I promise you it'll be every bit as big a money pit or more compared to your 2005 dodge.
Get one as a toy, learn to fix it, by all means, but don't rely on it as your daily driver. Wait until you have the extra money to have a "project car"
If you don't want a problem vehicle, look for cars that are incredibly popular. They are usually popular for a reason, and parts are plentiful. Might I suggest a basic civic.

Great truck! I found a '92 jacked-up with 35" tires & love to take it out into the desert. Where are you? I live an hour south of Vegas, & around here you can get a decent one for $2,000 & a beautiful one for four. If you are in the salt-&-snow belt, check the underside - I could be rusted thru.

  • Tips on replacing brake pads on a 2005 ford explorer? I've done lots of brake jobs but always on older pre 2000 cars. -Is it the same on newer cars? -Do I need to mess with proportioning valves or anything? -never done 4 wheel discs so is there a special order in which I should change them or bleed them? - is there any kinda of sensors I need to reset and if so, how do I reset them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  • Is a Ford Bronco a good first car? I'm 16 and I want to buy a vehicle. I would really prefer an SUV. I'm thinking about buying a 1995 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer 4WD. I don't see many Broncos. Is it a good vehicle? Does it handle well in the winter? I would get the 5.0 V8 so, is it cheap to fix? I have seen a 4 door Bronco so would that be hard to find?
  • Is a Ford Bronco a good first car? - 1 I'm 16 and I'm thinking about buying a car. I really want an SUV. I'm used to driving mid-sized SUVs and full size pickup trucks. I'm thinking about getting a 1996 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer. Is it a good car? I like them because I don't really see them that much. Does it handle well in the snow? Also, could I find one in a 4 door?
  • America's oldest car company FORD is losing $1B and plans to lay off 24,000 Americans who have good jobs, good pay, good benefits, pensions? Do you think that if the NEWEST TAX CUTS (slipped into the latest Medicare Bill last week) for the richest were LIMITED to only $320B instead of $321B, and just give the damn money to FORD instead, would AMERICA COLLAPSE because the Richest 1 percent COULDN'T INVEST in #MAGA?
