Could be either a limited slip or an open differential. You'll have to check the axle code. As a rule of thumb (it's not always 100% reliable), if the axle code is two numbers like "19" then it's an open diff. If it's a letter followed by a number like "H9" then it's limited slip.

- I need to put a different engine in my 1982 Ford Ranger Lariat and I don't know what to put in it? It's the biggest engine you could get at the time in those trucks, so it is a v8, I just don't know the exact size. Since the engine is pretty much dead that's in it I was wondering if almost any v8 could go in it's place or if it has any specific engine that has to go it in. Also any good suggestion for a good engine would be great.
- Ford ranger rear differential leak? I've noticed a couple weeks ago my differential is leaking on side closest to bumper. Not much. Stuck to the differential. Is there an additive I can use to stop the leak? Thank you in advance
