89 Ford Bronco ii won't start?

The car just died on me half way into a two hour drive home, towed it the rest of the way and tried to start it again, it would barley turn over. The more i tried it the less it would crank, now when I try to start it there's just absolute silence. I put in a new battery, tested alternator and it was good, new terminals, new voltage regulator, and new fuel filter. When I charge the battery overnight it will start up but only for a few minutes.

Get a wiring diagram for the start circuit. Do your checks and find the failed part. Check the fusible links in the battery cables if the vehicle has them.

When you get it to crank but will not start, check for spark and fuel pressure. These Broncos had main relay issues so that is the first thing to check when you do not have spark and/or fuel pressure.

It's a 25 year-old truck, things happen. Wires get brittle, hoses crack, clamps rust & loosen, pieces wear-our…

Just keep replacing expensive parts with no idea what you're doing. That always works.

Hi so with such an old truck what do you expect a new working truck time to get it properly hauled off and diagnosed as to why it does not run. A FORD dealer maybe.

  • Why did my car start and die when put into gear? Now it won't start at all? It's a cold winter day (below zero) Car started right up! I let it run for about 2 minutes, I put it in gear and it just died. I figured it's cold out, not real surprising, but when I tried to start it again, it won't start! Turns over fine but engie won't start! Any ideas? 2003 Ford Taurus 3.0L
  • 2000 ford taurus, is really hard to start, when it does start it idles really rough? 2000 ford taurus, is really hard to start, when it does start it idles really rough until completely warm, we replaced 4 coils and at first it helped but has returned just as bad.
  • Car won't start even with jump start? I have a Ford Escort 2001. I checked the battery at Auto Zone, told me it was fine and had charge. The alternator is also good. The starter is also fine. When I turn the key there's no clicks. The lights on the dashboard stay on. Does anyone know what it could be? I've also checked the cables and connections.
  • 2003 Ford F-250 Powerstroke won't Crank, won't start? When I turn the key, I get a rapid clicking noise, and the indicator lights on the dash flicker. Glow plugs also sound like their barely getting enough juice. No crank at all. I hooked up my 100w solar panel with a automatic12/24 volt charge controller, which said batteries had a good charge. Went ahead and charged them fully, followed by cleaning the post, and battery connections of corrosion. Result was the same, won't start. Any ideas what could be wrong?
