A/C compressor shuts off on rpm above 2000 in temp above 38degC in Ford Mondeo V6 Ghia?

The gas has been topped up, so no issues with that. When outside temperatures are lower than 38degC the a/c works perfectly fine. In fact its freezing. If i drive at lower rpm than 2000 the a/c works fine as well. Once the rpm increases (speeds above 100kmph) the compressor shuts off for about a min or 2 and then comes back on for a min or 2. Living in dubai the temp's are always high.

Thanks for the answer. I will try replacing the air filter first and work up from there.

Could be that your AC is actually working TOO well… In high humidity environments, the moisture in the air tends to condense and freeze around the outside of the AC coil, which blocks air flow into the cabin of the vehicle. The AC shutting off every few minutes helps to defrost the coil and allows air to flow through again. You might also try replacing the cabin air filter, if your car is equipped with one.
