2005 Ford Freestyle SEL Transmission(CVT) or Throttle Body Issues?

Ok any advise is greatly appreciated… I was driving our 05 Freestyle yesterday going from yard sale to yard sale and everything was fine, It was approx. 80 degrees and everything as normal (driving conditions). Well, I stopped for a break at the local beach and when I returned to my freestyle to leave I put the car in reverse to back out and it went into gear kind of hard but I figured that was because I was parked on a very slight incline, then shifted into D and it was smooth. I was able to drive about 35 feet out of the parking lot before I lost all acceleration, even though I was still pressing on the gas. I was able to coast to the side of the road, before turning the car off I noticed the check engine and check transmission lights were both on. I turned the car off for a minute or so and restarted, restarted fine… Went to shift into D and it was a "thump" which you could feel inside the car as well. Still no response from the gas pedal(throttle), switched into N and it was smooth, still no response from gas pedal, switched into R and the "thump" again with still no response from gas pedal. Turned car off, disconnected positive battery cable to try and reset system and checked the transmission fluid which was clean an at proper level. After waiting about 10 minutes I reconnected the battery and tried again.everything still the same. After having it towed home I tried again with no luck. Replaced Throttle body last year.

You're supposed to take the negative cable off the battery not the positive one.
If there's an electrical problem with the transmission control system the car goes into fail safe mode and may shut down the drive by wire throttle if you have it. CVT transmissions are junk. Since you don't have a mechanic at home why didn't you have it towed to the dealer?

Hi so what do you expect from a 12 years old car a miracle if you don't have it serviced.
