2005 Chevy Cobalt LT auto lock issues? - 1

Just bought a used 2005 Chevy Cobalt LT 4 dr for a steal at $1200. Just need help diagnosing and fixing some small issues that have presented.

1. The auto lock feature on both passenger and driver doors the button doesn't work. The automatic mirror button also doesn't work, however the automatic Windows do. The automatic locks switch on and off as the car moves from park to drive. So just the buttons themselves aren't working, I've checked the interior fuses already.

2. The trunk makes a clanking as if it's trying to unlock itself when pressing the unlock button, but can be opened with the key.

3. I bought a key fob as I did for my previous ford off eBay. However I can't figure out how to program it, I've heard you need to go to a dealer, any chance I can do it myself?

Locksmiths can do it cheaper than the dealer.

Hi For a start it was not a steal at all as it is a 10 year old car. With lots of irritating little faults. So as it was designed to last 8 years and 100k miles then it is no longer a bargain. So what is the answer lots of spare parts and lots of tender loving care to keep it roadworthy.

You have to use a Tech 2 in order to program key fobs for newer cars such as yours. Visit GM Dealership & have them look at the rest of issues
