2003 Ford Windstar. Just purchased today, ABS/Brake lights staying on?

2003 Ford Windstar. Just purchased today, ABS/Brake lights staying on? - 1

A few Q's - did you buy from a private party, or a dealer? Did you get a warranty from the dealer? If you bought from a PP, there usually is no warranty, so you will just have to get the vehicle repaired on your own… Same with a dealer - no warranty = you pay for repairs

Could be a bad wheel bearing or abs sensor, I would recommend taking it to a shop.

And the question is…

"Does anyone know what would cause that?"
"What should I do about that?"
"Can I sue the lot that sold me the car?"
"Is it safe to drive?"
"Am I a nut?"

Possibly a bad wheel speed sensor(s) or some other fault in the system. The brakes will still work conventionally but they will feel awkward almost like one side is sticking due to the system being in "limp mode" and the ABS module not doing its job.

  • Will a 2000 Ford Windstar lx fuse box diagram be the same as a 2003 Ford Windstar fuse box? I found a link about a 2003 but I need to know if it'll be the same for a 2000. If it ain't can anyone help me out with a link showing information like this but about a 2000 model? Thanks. http://www.fixya.com/cars/t11808484-2003_ford_windstar_fuse_box_diagram
  • Why are my blink lights / brake lights working? I have a 72 Ford f100 and the rear left turn signal, brake ligh, hazard light isn't working. The light workings for "running lights " but does not blink or light up when I press the brake. I replaced the bulb. I don't know where to start
  • Will my abs light come on if my brake pump is going out? My 1995 ford ranger's abs light is off once I start my truck and the turns on after I roll about 20ft. And in the time before that 20ft when the light is off, if I press the brake too hard the brakes lock up. Once the light comes on braking for is basically normal
  • 99 Ford ranger XLT base model. Park lights, dash lights, and license plates lights out I checked online and realized it was probably a fuse which it is. Fuse 11 in my power distribution box. The problem is I keep replacing at and soon as I turn on my lights it blows instantly. Have replaced it multiple times. So then I looked under my truck and disconnected the wiring to my taillights and replaced the fuse, it worked it didn't blow. Dash lights and license plates lights were on so I figured some where there's a problem with the brake lights. Any suggestions?
