2000 Ford Excursion 6.8 V10?

Misfire that is constantly changing cylinders.
But only between. 5,8 and 10.
Coils and plugs have been replaced. All connections to coils verified as tight and locked on.

Lost here…

Cylinder 4, 5,8 and 10 are all within the same 90 degs of crank position based on 2 rotations. Check the CPS, ( crankshaft position sensor). Cleaning the MAP sensor would be helpful as well. Also, check the PCV hose, especially at the elbow, for rotting and cracking.

Leak down test

Check the fuel injector wiring harness for things out of the ordinary.

  • V10 triton a good engine? I seen a 99 ford f250 for sale. It has a v10 triton 6.8l i believe. Is it a good motor do they last if well maintained? And if they are not good motors what are common problems they have?

So I had a code come up to replace tps so I did. now truck will bog and sometimes dies when taking off and coming to a stop. have moved the sensor up and down. Some positions makes the gas pedal not work. With it in the correct spot truck idles around 500 rpms. I don't get what the problem is. Doesn't make any sense. could it be that it's not a motorcraft part? are these v10 picky with aftermarket parts? any suggestions thanks

I was wanting to know apporximatly how much money i would waist on swaping my ford f250 superduty from a triton 6.8l v10 to a powerstroke like a 6.0 or 6.7l. And don't tell me to sell the truck and buy a new one cause i'm aware of that route. But i would like to see the estimated cost to swap the engines.
  • Average life exspency from ford 6.8 v10? I just bought a 2000 ford f250 4x4 with the v10. It has 166k miles with new heads. Motor uses a little oil bit runs good. Guy just put a new 5 speed tranny in it 50k miles ago. It has 430 rearend and a new frony wheel bearings. I paid 2500 for this truck did I do pretty good?
