Added (1). ooops the first answer is supposed to be an update. My bad.

Added (2). The van has a salvage title and has been wrecked and repaired. Runs great, but the light flashes and it has a trickle discharge. Could that be from the tripped sensor causing an open circuit?

I'd go to an auto parts store and have the codes read with a real code reader before doing anything. They offer code reading as a free service.

  • 1999 Ford Windstar LX van with 120,000 miles on it, just blew a head gasket. What should I do? I have taken the van to 3 different shops in my area and each place have said the same thing, " Blown Head Gasket", now I would like other peoples opinion on this. The quotes I have to fix this van will cost more than what the van is actually worth, so, should I fix the thing or try to save the money up to buy something else. The van has ran fine for the past four years, and just lately it has started to have issues… What do you think I should do? Any information is helpful.
