1999 chevy blazer 4x4,.3?
The engine blew up in my 1999 Blazer, it had over 177,000 miles on it and it spun a bearing! My daughter's boyfriend put another 4.3 in it with 88,000 miles! Is 88,000 miles a lot of miles for a 4.3? The truck is back on the road again and running good! I don't know a whole lot about those 4.3s! Until I got this Blazer I always had ford trucks!

The 4.3 is a great workhorse with a good amount of torque. Used in GM trucks for a few decades, and for good reason. It can sometimes be annoying to work on, however. Generally, they will last forever with proper care.
I miss my '98. The 4.3 L is much better than anything Ford has ever produced. If you are afraid of it, pull it out and install a 350 or some other SBC. GM has been developing this engine design since 1954, first installed in 1955 models. That means, at present 60+ years of development on this engine design. My first truck was a Ford.
My second; a Chevy ZR2.
My 4.3l is running fine (very fine, according to a few mechanics) @ 210,000 miles.
I thought I was having issues with the air intake maifold (hence the mechanics), but it turned out to be just a worse-than -I-thought gas pump.
People ask all the time about the 4.3l.

- Which car is the overall to keep for a couple of yrs? 1999 Nissan maxima, 1999 Altima, 2006 ford Taurus or 2002 buick lesabre? All of them have low mileage as the Taurus have 69000 and the maxima have the highest of 123000. They all under 1100 bucks.
- Roder replacements cost for a 2003 ford trail blazer? My dad told me my car breaks weren't working right so i had a mechanic look at It he said it was the roder I was just wondering how much that would cost, just a ballpark. It's a 2003 Chevy trailblazer
- How is fording a river in a manual 4x4 different to an automatic 4x4? I had forded a river with a LR Defender before and usually stuck it in Low 2nd gear and push through the river at 2-3k rpm. Luckily I never got stuck in the middle but I remember reading somewhere that it is easier to ford rivers with an automatic gearbox due to the lack of clutch housing? Since automatic gearbox won't really stall in the middle of the river, would it be okay to shift it in reverse if stuck?
