1996 Ford Probe GT RPM issues?
I have a 96 Probe GT that is constantly acting like it wants to cut out at low rpms. When the check engine light is off, the car idles at around 1,200 rpm (warm engine). With the engine warm, the car will buck and spudder at low rpms when setting off from a stop or idling. The check engine light will flash for a split second when this happens. Once the car is in third gear and the engine spins at right around 2,000rpm, everything works fine. HOWEVER the car will sometimes start with the check engine light on and it will sometimes stay on. When this happens the car doesn't experience any of the bucking or spuddering at all. I've cleaned out the air filter, changed the spark plugs, and I've had the crankshaft position sensor replaced.
Any major auto parts store (Autozone, Advance, O'Reillys, etc) can scan for OBDII faults at no charge. This may help pinpoint the problem, or be a good starting point, and it is free.
- Which will be finished first? The FBI investigation of Kavanaugh or Mueller's Russia probe? Christine Ford's lawyer Debra Katz said no "artificial limits as to time or scope should be imposed on this investigation." When asked if they could get the investigation done in a week, a senior FBI official told Fox News, "That depends on the schedules of everyone we'd have to interview, including the accuser, accused and witnesses."

- 1996 Ford Ranger with clutch issues? It is a 96 ford ranger 2.3L 2wd with a 5 speed standard transmission. The issue is that the clutch will not disengage when depressing the pedal. My first thoughts were a bad slave cylinder or clutch master cylinder. However, I had a friend push the pedal while I watched the slave cylinder inside the bellhousing and it seems to be functioning properly. So, my question is, does that mean it is the pressure plate that is toast? That is all it could be… Right?
- What RPM should my car idle while driving and what RPM should I shift? I have a 2003 Ford Mustang V6. 5 speed manual transmission. This is not the first manual car I've owned, but I'm curious. I never really look but I've read in some places that in order to save gas you should shift at 2 RPM before I used to shift at around 3-3.5 RPM. Also what's a good RPM my car should idle at while I'm in gear? Let's say I'm driving in 3rd gear. What's the ideal RPM to stay at before needing to shift.
