Do a compression test. I'd guess the head gasket is gone.

It's the thermostat. It's less than $10 for a new one and a gasket and very simple to fix. You'd be smart to get it fixed before you warp the heads from overheating assuming the aren't already warped. Pull your oil dipstick out. What color is the oil on the end of it? A blown head gasket (warped heads) will cause water to go into your oil. It will be kind of milky in color.
